I see everybody is grabbing a word or a claiming a scripture for the New Year. I normally wait until about April to start setting goals and resolutions. But honestly, this year that never happened and I feel like I’ve been swirling out of control all year. God still managed to hold me together and accomplish a lot through me but I definately didn’t make it easy. So here goes.
My phrase: WASTE NOT,WANT NOT
My scripture: Ephesians 6:10-18
My goals and resolutions: Are many. But I have written them down and I probably will post them soon. But for today just know I don’t plan on wasting 2012.
I don’t want to waste relationships. Friends and family are of upmost importance to me. My husband and my kids are my reasons for living.
I don’t want to waste my health. Have you seen my family medical history? I’m a freaking time bomb.
I don’t want to waste my wealth. God has freakishly blessed me. I need to continue to be responsible but also aggressive in my spending and savings in this current economic situation.
I don’t want to waste God’s greatest gift to me. His word.
I don’t want to waste my mind on stupid stuff. I need to keep learning as fast as I can in this season of my life. I have no need for fluff.
I don’t want to waste time. I have things to experience, bucket lists to complete, people to meet, movies to watch, books to get lost in.
I don’t want to waste creativity. I have pieces that need creating and objects that need to be experiementing.
I don’t want to waste a single moment. I want all that God has planned for me.
What’s your top goal for 2012? How are you not going to waste 2012?
Finally, (A)be strong in the Lord and in (B)the strength of his might. 11 (C)Put on (D)the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against (E)the schemes of the devil. 12 For (F)we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against (G)the rulers, against the authorities, against (H)the cosmic powers over (I)this present darkness, against (J)the spiritual forces of evil (K)in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore (L)take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in (M)the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, (N)having fastened on the belt of truth, and (O)having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, (P)as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up (Q)the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all (R)the flaming darts of (S)the evil one; 17 and take (T)the helmet of salvation, and (U)the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying (V)at all times (W)in the Spirit, (X)with all prayer and supplication. To that end (Y)keep alert with all perseverance, making (Z)supplication for all the saints,
