I hear a lot of good talk.

I hear a lot of people saying they want to do something different.

I hear words like “I’ve always wanted to, I dream about, I always thought that I could…”

I hear words of wanting change, to be the change.

But to be very honest I’m not seeing the follow through. I see a lot of good intentions but without the commitment, without an plan with purpose, without the sacrifice needed to see it through I have to doubt it is going to happen. I see it in individuals, families, churches, and communities. 

And it’s not because we’re evil but we are essentially lazy people. We just are. Leave us in one spot too long and we have roots filled with inertia, and fear, and lack of vision, and contentment with the status quo. Pretty soon our lives revolve our favorite TV show…
