You know when we were little and had no clue what staying in line meant? Do you remember your mom telling you to stay between the ropes at the movies or going the right way on the mini maze into Wendy’s?
As much as our parents loved us I think all of that rule minding has been to our detriment.
I can’t believe how many people I talk to every week that met one obstacle to obtaining the thing they loved most and took that as a sign that somehow what they cared about the most was no longer worth pursuing? It makes me really mad about how many things we are all missing out because one of you heard someone say no.
Here’s one thing I know. If we always follow rules set by other people, our lives will always be decided by other people. If we let go of that natural curiosity of what might behind that no trespassing sign we may be missing out on the adventure of a life time.
If you have a dream, a desire, a talent keep pursuing it. Keep trying. Do not give up.
What you have to offer matters. It’s important. It’s beautiful.
Are you writing songs? Are you creating children’s books? Do you have an idea for the next best Apple product? Have you invented the next best thing?
Do you just need someone to believe in you?
Well, I do.
Stop being a chicken and keep trying. Don’t give up until someone takes you and what you’ve created seriously.
