Don’t turn away today.
But don’t be a sick spectator either.
If you’re like me, your heart is breaking, blood pressure is rising, dark images are pressing into you, and even darker thoughts are racing through your mind. I seem to be consumed with putting a finger on where my loved ones are at every moment today.
Boston, West, Gosnell, Rick Warren’s son, and now flooding in the Midwest again are just the tip of the iceberg of the tragedy and sadness our world is facing.
Guard your heart.
Take captive every thought.
Pray without ceasing.
Live generously.
Don’t turn away. Don’t shut down for too long
Press into our Lord and lean not on our own understanding.
Serve the least, the lost, and the lonely.
Do not lose hope.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
