Entertaining angels unaware

For the past three months we have been inundated in donations for The Sparrow’s Nest earmarked in memory of Gail McCall. As far as I know I have never been blessed to meet this angel. I felt I needed to know more about this obviously deeply loved woman. I just got off the phone with one of her friends. She told me how much Gail loved being a labor and delivery nurse at St. Luke’s for over 30 years. She told me how vibrant she was and how everyone always wanted to be around her. She told me how very badly Gail wanted to volunteer at The Sparrow’s Nest but her health deteriorated so quickly she had no opportunity to do so. Prior to her death she let her wishes be known that instead of flowers she wanted The Sparrow’s Nest to receive the financial blessing.

I’m of course a wreck. How do you respond to such generosity of stranger? What do you say to her friends and family left behind?

I delivered my two oldest at St. Luke’s and apparently I attended church with Gail at Harvester where she learned about the mission of The Sparrow’s Nest. How many times have our paths must of crossed in the last 15 years and I not be aware of this lovely spirit?

My heart breaks for her friends and family especially during this season of the year. But if you happen to know them please let them know what an encouraging blessing Gail continues to be even in her rightful spot of heaven.

Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Hebrews 13:2

It's good talking with you.
